Automotive radio

Did you know that 90% of people have sung in their car at least once? More surprisingly, 10% of people have actually gotten engaged in a car. Vehicles are, in many ways, a big part of our lives. This is one reason people tune in to car talk radio show. When you own a car, you often want to know basic facts about upkeep, car news, as well as what you can do if something goes wrong. Here are four of the latest vehicle news updates that automotive radio shows are covering this week.

1. New Trend in Car Collections

Collector car auctions are more popular than ever, and an interesting trend where owners leave cars alone is appearing. Rather than spending thousands of dollars on restorations, they are instead relishing the scratches, chips, and other flaws that are a part of the car.

2. Getting Bikes Instead of Cars

In a trend that is less car friendly, the University of Dayton, and other schools as well, is offering 100 students free bikes if they promise not to bring a car onto campus. As University parking continues to get more crowded, this giveaway is likely to continue if it proves successful.

3. A Google Car?

Is there any industry Google cannot handle? So far, it seems like the company is willing to explore anything and everything as a way to innovate their brand. Car show radio shows say that Google has been talking with Continental AG and Magna International, two component suppliers, to see if it is possible to put together an entire Google car, complete with autonomous driving technology.

4. A Gas Pump Full of Sunshine

It might sound too futuristic to ever be true, but the California Institute for Technology is trying to make synthetic gasoline using a process of artificial photo synthesis. In other words, basically a combination of water and sunlight. The U.S. Energy Department, according to auto radio, is funding it to the tune of $122 million.

haha… wait… but how do you know that the people getting the bikes were even planning to use a car in the first place? Also, NEVER being able to use it might suck, esp. if its really cold or raining…
