Woven vs Printed Patches

Woven tags labels

Customized clothing labels have been popular for years because they give people the opportunity to express themselves on their clothing. Whether they are integrating custom zipper pulls or modern patches that are designed to be sewn or ironed on, advanced technology has made it possible to recreate any design on an embroidered patch. If you are deciding between woven patches and printed patches, though, you must determine which one will best suit your needs. While both have their advantages, figuring out which one would look best on your clothing is entirely up to you.

Woven patches are similar to embroidered patches, which are normally the industry standard, in that they can be used in the same ways embroidered patches are used while producing a higher quality image. Woven labels use very thin threads that are woven together and can make the images look real since the threads show finer details in the images. While embroidered patches are used by the government for uniforms, woven patches can achieve an even greater quality look that embroidered patches cannot match. Woven patches are also more durable than printed patches are and can handle a normal amount of washings.

While woven labels tend to be more durable, printed labels can actually offer an even higher quality image. Since the design is printed directly onto the patch, the high quality of the image transfers directly onto it. Since it can achieve such a clear image there are few restrictions on how intricate the image can be. Woven, however, cannot match the quality of a complicated image. The only problem is that after numerous washes the label may start to fade. Printed patches are also thinner, so they are less conspicuous on the clothing.

Whether you want woven patches, printed patches, custom zipper pulls, shield shaped souvenir patches, or military patches that are filled with metaphor, you must weigh your options before you decide. While woven patches tend to be more durable, printed patches produce higher quality images. Considering what label you want on your clothing and how you want it to look can help you decide which patch might be right for you.

I never understood why people sew these patches onto their clothes. Why not just wear normal clothes like everyone else? You stick out like a sore thumb and everyone judges you and thinks you are too poor to afford better clothes.

You, my friend, are exactly what is wrong with society with that closed minded attitude. Wear normal clothes like everyone else? Just because we are not a spineless drone like you does not mean you have the right to criticize us.
